The SDDco Group is situated at 485 Madison Avenue on Floor 15. Our atmosphere is professional and cooperative with frequent and effective communication between all employees. Staff, seniors, managers and partners routinely interface via client service, company sponsored activites, and internal SDDco committees that plan and improve the functionality of the Firm.
SDDco is a New York firm with a global focus. Our international, high profile client base includes registered investment advisers, US institutional broker/dealers, asset management companies, futures commodity brokers, privately managed funds and investment firm subsidiaries of foreign banks.
SDDco is expanding, and your path to success is clearly defined. Promotions are based on technical competence, licensing, experience and people skills. See Career Path to learn the milestones required for promotions within our service areas.
SDDco coordinates and supports annual Continuing Professional Education (CPE), professional license exams and renewals and various industry conferences. SDDco provides your study materials for the FINRA Series 27 Financial Operations Principal (FinOp) exam and the Certified Public Accounting exams. We also reward your success and reimburse your sitting fees.
Entry level professionals in accounting and regulatory compliance are trained on the job by SDDco mentors. (Note: tax accountants are not hired at the entry level.)
As a staff accountant, you are trained in our software and accounting methods by more senior members at SDDco. As you grow in experience, you’ll engage in the more complex aspects of our accounting service process, such as advsing our clients, facilitating their financial and regulatory obligations and supervising SDDco employees. Over time, you’ll attain a deep understanding of various financial services firms and the activities that impact their businesses. Periodic seminars are presented in-house on service topics specific to the financial services industry.
As a new compliance associate, you are exposed to all facets of our regulatory compliance support services. This includes document preparation, registration filings, written regulatory responses, compliance program organization and maintenance, and FINRA applications. Once a base of knowledge is established in core areas, you’ll accompany consultants on client visits, where you’ll develop a practical understanding of the consulting field. Managers also engage associates in seminars and webinars to deepen their regulatory knowledge.
SDDco salaries and benefits are highly competitive with other New York professional firms. Raises and promotions are generally effective January 1st.
SDDco affords you an escalating Paid Time Off program, Bonus Days, Holidays and Remote Time for a little bit of work-from-home flexibility.
Generally our dress code is business casual. There are just a few exceptions. A suit is expected when representing the Firm at a professional meeting or when attending a conference as an SDDco presenter. We wear casual attire, jeans and sneakers included, when working a Saturday during Busy Season (February/March).
SDDco is committed to reducing our foot print on the environment.
Our efforts to conserve include the use of Energy Star labeled printer/copiers, reduction of print paper consumption by 3o%, nightly workstation shutdowns, the purchase of washable dining and flatware, the elimination of disposable plastic and Styrofoam from our kitchens, and the recycling of glass, plastics, tin, print materials, cardboard and toner cartridges.
Our efforts to raise awareness include the SDDco Sponsorship of A Better World By Design: An annual symposium connecting college level students with professionals in a variety of disciplines to build a global community of socially conscious innovators.
When our employees said they wanted more social events, we listened. SDDco has participated in Yankee Game Days, Mets Game Days, summer Soft Ball Games, fall Golf Outing, Cards for a Cause nights, winter Holiday Dinner Dances, clothing drives for Bottomless Closet to help disadvantaged women, and City Harvest volunteer days.
